Bartlesville High baseball fell in a tight battle in game one of the 6A Regionals. The Bruins were topped by Sapulpa 3-2 and now will have to fight through the consolation bracket to keep their season alive.

The Bruins had an early 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of unearned runs scored in the first and second innings. BHS struggled offensively with just six total hits on the afternoon. The Bruins would be held scoreless for the final five frames. Jakob Hall and Silas Early each notched two hits.

Hall started on the mound and was nearly flawless besides a few defensive miscues. Hall gave up three unearned runs in the third inning and that was all the Chieftains needed to secure the win.

Bartlesville will play Putnam City West on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in an elimination contest. PC West lost to Union 8-4 earlier in the day. The Bruins swept PC West in a district series in Mid-April.

Radio coverage can be heard on KWON AM 1400--FM 93.3.
