The Oklahoma State Senate has passed a bill that would not require those attending school to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The bill also bans mask mandates for vaccinated students from kindergarten through college.

There is belief that the bill will land on Governor Kevin Stitt’s desk before the legislative session wraps up on Friday. Senator Rob Standridge had this to say on the bill:

“Now that we are coming out on the other side, we need to be a little more pragmatic, a little more thoughtful on what we require of parents and children.”

The bill passed the Senate 38-8 and is now being heard on the House floor.
