Bartlesville Man Charged With Hit and Run, DUI

A Bartlesville man was arrested after an alleged hit and run incident that occurred late Saturday night. Darrell Walker Jr. appeared at the Washington County Courthouse on Monday facing felony charges of driving under the influence and assault and battery on an officer. Walker was also charged with misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of accident, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.

According to an affidavit, it is alleged that Walker struck a retaining wall with his vehicle causing the wall to be damaged. Walker then reportedly fled to an apartment complex on the 300 block of Santa Fe Avenue.

Officers made contact with Walker and noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. He refused to give officers his driver’s license or insurance information as he tried to deny any involvement in the accident. BPD officers had to physically restrain the defendant to arrest him.

Walker was allowed to post a $1,000 bond over the weekend. However, the State of Oklahoma filed a motion enhance the defendant’s bond to $15,000. Walker was remanded to custody at the Washington County Jail.
