Governor Kevin Stitt has officially declared September as Hunger Action Month.

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Gov. Stitt share a vision where no one goes hungry. Stitt said that is why he had approved $6 million in CARES Act funding for Oklahoma food banks. He said some of the money went towards building a network of community partnerships to serve more families in need.

As Governor, Stitt said he is proud to declare September as Hunger Action Month. Stitt encourages you to get involved where you can, whether it be volunteering with the regional food bank, a community food bank or even your local food bank. He said any food bank could use your help.

Oklahoma food banks distributed 89 million pounds of food to those in need last year alone. Gov. Stitt said the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma expects to break another record this year. He said we can make Oklahoma a place where no one goes hungry if we work together.
