Man Arrested for Threatening COVID Clinic

A Bartlesville man was arrested on Friday after making a threat towards a COVID-19 Clinic in Bartlesville. Eric Parlin appeared at the Washington County Courthouse on Monday where he was charged with a felony count of a terrorism hoax.
According to an affidavit, a clinic on the 3400 block of Frank Phillips Boulevard reported to police that Parlin had made a threat over the phone. It is alleged that a family member of Parlin’s was not eligible for a certain treatment and he was upset.
The victim claims that Parlin said, “I’m just going to bring my gun up there and show you she qualifies.”
Officers on site at the clinic were frequently approached by staff members who seemed alarmed at the situation. No violent action was taken by the defendant.
Parlin told police that he had an AR-15 and two handguns at his residence. He claims that he did make the phone call to threaten the clinic. Bond for Parlin was set at $100,000 with a condition that he not be within 1,000 feet of the clinic. Parlin is due back in court on October 8.
