Washington County 4-H wraps up National 4-H week by presenting the 4-H Proclamation to the Washington County Commissioners.

Commissioner Mitch Antle encouraged elected officials in Washington County to engage in 4-H events such as speech contests, banquets, and more. He said 4-H and FFA are the biggest youth leadership programs in Washington County that we can get.

Commissioner Mike Dunlap said Washington County 4-H Youth Development gives him hope for the future. He said he gets frustrated with the world, but the great future these students represent is refreshing and encouraging.

Students presented the proclamation, including 4-H Youth Development President Emma Lewis, Vice President Jancie Cantrell, Secretary Samantha Graves, Reporter Izzy Lewis, Healthy Living Leader Lydia Daniel, and Recreational Leaders Kira Hatlestad and Isabel Case. Their advisor, Jenifer Harbour, was also in attendance.

The Commissioners unanimously declared the week of Oct. 3 through Oct. 9 as National 4-H Week.
