Does the city of Bartlesville need a convention/conference center?  That is what city officials are trying find out.
 
Appearing on City Matters, Bartlesville City Manager Mike Bailey talked about the special meeting to be held at noon on Tuesday, December 14, at city hall. Although the meeting itself is to consider a Memorandum of Understanding to lease the First Christian Church for a dollar a month while studies are being conducted to see if there is a need for such a venue as a conference center.
 
Other matters discussed on City Matters is that the city is doing very well on sale taxe collections. City Clerk Janson Munninger said, "We are in ucharted tertitory as far as collections care concerned."
 
Delaney Williams with the Bartlesville Area History Museum told listeners and viewers that their first Third Thursday event went very well. Williams said they are looking for to the next one on December 16. As a part of the festivities, the Museum will be offering a hot chocolate bar, snacks, and a fun Christmas craft for kids. 
 
Williams said that crafting will take place at 6:30, and a guided tour of the main gallery will be offered at 7:00 PM. The Museum will be open from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM.
 
This will be a great time to take in the exhibit End of the Line: The Short History of Bartlesville’s Interurban Railway. The exhibit is new for December and will only be on display until February 25, 2022.

The Museum is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and is located on the 5th floor of City Hall at 401 S. Johnstone Ave.
