The Nowata County Commissioners Transferred money to each of the three districts for road repairs at Monday morning’s meeting. Each district received $50,000 from the county road and bridges improvement fund. Chairman Burke LaRue says there is still road damages in his district from various flooding events.

LaRue also filed for a $50,000 grant from the Circuit Engineering District for materials to potentially offset some costs. LaRue said that several culverts in his district remain damaged from the major flooding in 2019.

The commissioners also opened bids for road oil and ballot materials. Those bids will possibly be awarded at the next meeting on Monday, December 27. The board will not meet December 20.
