Nowata Commissioners Approve Surplus Resolutions

The Nowata County Commissioners met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday morning. The board passed through a mostly standard agenda with minimal objection.
The Nowata County Sheriff’s office received two donations. The first was from the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office for $1,500 for the purpose of new uniforms and other apparel. The second donation was from Law Enforcement Partners for $500 for general sheriff’s office needs.
District No. 3 Commissioner Troy Friddle passed a resolution for surplus and disposal of a Peterbilt dump truck. The truck would’ve needed more than $4,000 in maintenance to be functional again. Friddle talks about why they cannot use the truck anymore.
Chairman Burke LaRue announced that each fair board district had one representative filed for the post. There will be no need for a fair board election and every spot is filled.
