Contract With Scooter Companies Gets Renewed

On Monday evening, the Bartlesville City Council renewed a one-year contract with Bird Rides and Lime Scooters.

Lime Electric Scooters began providing services at the end of 2020 and has serviced more than 15,000 rides and traveled over 16,000 miles while using 75 vehicles. Statistics show that the median trip distance is 0.6 miles and travel time averages 11 minutes.

When Bird Rides began operating in February of 2021, Bird Rides have services 9,000 rides and a total of 15,500 miles have been traveled. Community Development Director Lisa Beeman had this to say on the contract renewal:

“The scooters have generated a lot of interest in Bartlesville and we know people are using them both for entertainment and purposeful transportation. We are happy to extend the contract for both companies for another year of service.”

The contracts are renewed on a one-year basis.
