The Bartlesville Police Department and Bartlesville Radio partner to offer a monthly podcast to purposefully engage, educate, and entertain the community about law enforcement while building stronger community relationships.

In a statement, Bartlesville Police Chief Tracy Roles had this to say about the program:

“I am so excited Bartlesville Radio has agreed to partner with the Bartlesville Police Department to provide yet another avenue to communicate with the citizens of our great City. I hope many will find this program informative, educational and even light hearted from time to time.  We have a tremendous community that deserves openness, honesty and transparency from its police department. I hope the Chief Chat program will serve to produce these things and that the citizens can benefit from the information.”

The inaugural episode of “Bartlesville Chief Chat” will air on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 8:30 a.m. on KWON AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 FM. Chief Roles (pictured left) will join Bartlesville Radio News Director Garrett Giles in the studio for the program, which will also be broadcast on Facebook Live (and eventually KWONTV.com) in order to reach an online audience.

“We are excited to partner with Chief Roles and the Bartlesville Police Department in this capacity to provide an educational program that will help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community,” Giles said. “In light of issues surrounding ‘defunding the police’ in recent years, we want to ensure that we are leveling the playing field by giving both the public and the police department an opportunity to sort out differences and opinions while providing a fun and engaging platform for them to communicate on.”

Bartlesville Chief Chat will run approximately 15 minutes.
