Osage County Tourism Director Kelly Bland has been busy making a name for the county, as she recently attended conferences in Texas. Bland said that Pawhuska, along with Osage County, are still target destinations for the ones putting together bus tours. With that, she also learned that tour groups are usually passing through the area for the day and staying in Bartlesville, Ponca City or Tulsa because Osage County doesn't have the capability to accommodate such large groups.

District One Commissioner Randall Jones talked about how important such an amenity will be for the county.

Bland did say that the Osage Casino in Pawhuska will have 75 hotel rooms when it opens, but added that the tour bus clientele likely won't be attracted to that environment.
