Spring football rolls on across Northeast Oklahoma, as most local teams have begun or will soon begin their spring practices.

At Wesleyan Christian School the Mustangs are trying to ride their success from a season ago into a fruitful offseason. Spring practice will start on Monday for Wesleyan Christian.

WCS went 8-4 and won its second playoff game in the program’s history. However a large senior class will leave the Mustangs younger this fall. Wesleyan Christian graduated six seniors off last year’s team.

Head coach Curt Cloud says this fall’s junior class should lead his club.

Carson Tennison, Tyrel Cloud and Kael Siemers are the notable returners. Tennison played mostly defense last year and was one of WCS’ leading tacklers. Cloud is the team’s returning quarterback and Siemers has served as a big-time playmaker the past two seasons.

Cloud says the success the program has had the past several years is paying off in younger guys wanting to be a part of Mustang football.

Another guy who WCS will lean on is Bartlesville transfer Mason Jensen. Jensen will try to replace the big shoes of last year’s running back in Kaden Fisher.

Jensen was on last year’s squad but was not eligible after transferring from BHS.
