Heavy rains continue to fall across Northeast Oklahoma prompting a flood watch for Washington, Nowata and Osage counties among others across the state. The National Weather Service estimates anywhere between 1-6 inches of rainfall could be experienced between now and Tuesday evening.

Low-lying and flood prone areas could be at risk. As of Tuesday morning the Caney River in Bartlesville is up from 7 feet to 9 feet but is still well below flood stage. The Verdigris River near Nowata has shown considerably low levels in recent days but has increased to a 9-foot stage. Flood stage for the Verdigris is 30 feet.
