Council Elects Not to Renew City Judge Contract, More

The Dewey City Council tables an item pertaining to economic development.
The Council was slated to consider the possible lease of property at 530 S. Osage Avenue on Monday night. However, the Council moved to table the item out of executive session. An employment contract for City Judge Robert Fries for fiscal year 2022-2023 would not be renewed as well.
Both items were unanimously approved out of session.
Earlier in the meeting, the Council voted to amend the current fiscal year budget. They would then proceed to adopt the fiscal year 2022-2023 budgets for the City of Dewey and the Dewey Public Works Authority.
The City of Dewey's General Fund was set at $1,893,311.59. The Special Revenue Fund was set at $1,086,925, and the Meter Trust was set at $57,000.
The Dewey Public Works Authority (DPWA) would be allocated $1,916,150, which will be split amongst administration, water and wastewater, the wastewater treatment facility, and sanitation.
The Authority would approve the budget in their meeting following the Council's gathering. Current budget amendments would be approved by DPWA as a booking keeping item, too.
