The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) celebrates as a member of their team graduates from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) training program.

WCSO Sergeant Jorgensen trained for two weeks with his fellow classmates as they worked diligently to learn the middle and elementary school curriculum. He was selected at the Top Student which is chosen by the training staff. The staff look for a stand out in academics, leadership, participation, encouragement and a potential staff member of the Oklahoma DARE training team.

In a statement, Sheriff Scott Owen said:

“We are proud of Sgt. Johnson and anxiously await his interaction with the students in our rural schools.”

Sgt. Jorgensen will begin teaching this fall in our rural school districts. He is currently assigned to night shift patrol and is the shift supervisor.
