Dewey City Council Denies Variance Requests

The Dewey City Council met for their second of two regular monthly meetings at City Hall in downtown Dewey. They kicked off the meeting with denying multiple variances on a location, and on an off-premises sign distance requirement to be waived. City Council Member Wayne Sell of Ward 1 gave his reasoning on why they should be denied.

The Commissioners next approved to surplus of three vehicles from the Dewey Police Department, including a 2008 Chevy Tahoe, a 2006 Dodge Charger, and a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria.

They lastly discussed and approved an action of submitting a letter of request to the US Army Corp of Engineers regarding an Osage Plains Campground. Lane Bell with Bell RV Resorts spoke with the Commissioners about the campground. 

The Dewey City Council will meet again on Sept. 4th at 7 pm at Dewey City Hall
