Dewey Man Stabs Victim with Pocketknife

A Dewey man was seen in Washington County Court this week on the charges of assault with a deadly weapon and act of violence to threaten serious bodily harm. Erwin Alvermann appeared in court on Tuesday over the alleged incident. According to an affidavit, Alvermann was arrested on Tuesday on the 100 block of SE Washing Blvd due to a “continuing conflict between Alvermann and the victim.

Alvermann is alleged to have stabbed the victim with a pocketknife, which was caught on security camera footage. He initially wielded the knife before telling the victim that he was going to kill them.

He was given a bond of $25,000 and his next court date was set for October 6th at 9 a.m.
