State Senate Adjourns From Special Session

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt called for a special session on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, but the state Senate adjourned before taking any action.
Stitt called the special session for three items he’s asking legislators to discuss - budget transparency, a tax cut to put the state on the path to zero income taxes and a trigger law mandating that if the court finds that any Oklahoman doesn't have to pay state taxes, then nobody has to pay state taxes.
Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat said Stitt did not show up to the Senate Appropriations Committee, so the Senate voted to adjourn with no action taken at all.
House Speaker Charles McCall told our partners at News on 6 there was no agreement made, and if the Senate is adjourned, no action can make it to the Governor’s Desk.
