A Ramona man was seen in Washington County Court on Tuesday on the charge of domestic assault and battery by strangulation. Zydrunas Digney was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 4^th on the above charges after a call was made by the victim to police. According to an affidavit, Digney and the victim were having a verbal argument over the paying of an electric bill before things became physical in the front yard of the residence.

The victim told police that she was on her stomach in the front yard when Digney came up behind her and allegedly reached under her and began to strangle her with his arm. The victim said that she played dead for about two minutes until he released her. She then ran into her house and locked the door.

Digney began trying to enter the residence, so the victim crawled out a window and hid herself in a pen with a stallion horse. The victim told police that Digney allegedly had assaulted her at least twenty times during their relationship. He was given a $5,000 bond and his next court date is set for Oct. 18^th.
