Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern had announced earlier this week that he would be running to be the Majority Leader Speaker of the House. After hours of closed-door meetings with GOP leaders, he has since shifted his attention to nominating Steve Scalise, who he believes would do a great job uniting the party.

Hern added that it is important to elect a Speaker of the House in a timely manner with what is going on in the world right now.
