BHS baseball started off the Bruin Classic on a high note after Bartlesville was able to pull out a 5-3 win over Ponca City. The Bruins got things started early offensively as they drew first blood in the first inning.

Bartlesville had runs in scoring position when a rundown occurred, leading to the first run of the game.

Bartlesville would make it 3-0 after adding a run in the second and fifth innings before Ponca City would respond to make it 3-3 in the top of the sixth. BHS though would punch right back and score two runs in the bottom half of the sixth to grab the win.

It would be a bases-loaded walk to push the Bruins ahead.

One more run would walk in after that as Bartlesville moves to 7-9 on the season with the win. Kaden Romesburg pitched the full seven innings and grabbed four strikeouts, gave up five hits and zero earned runs.

BHS will be right back tomorrow at Bill Doenges Memorial stadium for day two of the Bruin Classic when they battle Enid at 11 am and Sapulpa at 1:30 p.m. Both games will be available on Sports Talk 99.1 FM KPGM and KWONTV.com
