Thanks to Kevin Lynch and other Bartlesville community members, Bartlesville Public Schools got a little safer on Monday afternoon.

All school resources officers at every Bartlesville Public Schools location will now be equipped with a rifle-rated ballistic shield. This should provide the officers with added protection and confidence dealing with specific situations.

Lynch talks about how this came about.

Ryan Sheehan with the Stand 1st Foundation says this will put Bartlesville Schools resource officers with some of the best equipped police forces in the state.

Sheehan talks about what this means for the officers.

Lynch worked to get the first round of shields for officers a few years ago. With added officers now at every location of BPS, they will all be protected with the same shields to help keep the students of Bartlesville safe.
