Elder Care announced that it has launched a $25,000 challenge grant campaign issued by the Carl C. and Marie Jo Anderson Foundation to support programs that benefit aging adults in Washington, Nowata, and Osage Counties.

According to Angie Thompson, Director of Development, the $25,000 in donations earmarked for this challenge will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000 by the Anderson Foundation.

"The Anderson Foundation's challenge grant will help us address a pressing need in programs like the DayBreak Adult Day Health & Activity Center, which relies on financial assistance to cover transportation costs, program materials, and food expenses. As aging adults require access to nutritious food, the meals provided at DayBreak are vital for those who face food insecurity or struggle to prepare healthy, nutritious meals at home. These meals are heart-healthy and diabetic-friendly, making them an excellent source of nourishment.”

The cost to provide DayBreak meals is approximately $4,800 each month. The funds raised from the challenge grant will help meet this essential need.
