A Tornado Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday for much of our listening area.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, Severe storms are expected to rapidly develop this afternoon, initially across far eastern Kansas and western Missouri, with development a bit later into northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

A few tornadoes are possible with a couple intense tornadoes possible as well.  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3.5 inches in diameter are likely in the watch area.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

The Tornado Watch area does not include Osage or Chautauqua counties at this time.
