Yvonne House, Secretary of the Washington County Election Board, says that voters in Washington County have until 5:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, to apply for absentee ballots for the August 26 Runoff Primary Election.

House urges voters who want to vote absentee to apply early.  Absentee ballot application forms are available at the County Election Board Office located at 420 S. Johnstone Ave, Room 101.

Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot for any election he or she is eligible to vote. As an alternative to voting by absentee ballot, voters can receive and cast a ballot at the County Election Board Office on Thursday, August 21, from 8 am to 6 pm, Friday, August 22, from 8 am to 6pm or Saturday, August 23 from 9 am to 2 pm.  A two-member, bipartisan absentee voting board will be on duty each day to assist in-person absentee voters.
