The third set of five semi-finalists in the KRIG Country Showdown got on stage Thursday evening to try their hand at winning the final spot for the local finals.  There was lots of support at Whiskey Bent for Gary Douglas, Celeste Drowatzky, Let It Ride, Maggie Smith and Jennifer Varao.

Jennifer Varao was the winner of Thursday’s competition.  Celeste Drowatzky won the runner up award.  Jennifer join the other two Semi-Final winners, Josie Zepeda and Annie Hart for the local finale on July 14th at Pawhuska’s Cavalcade Street Dance.

The judges, Tim Blackwell, Wes Tallman and Connie Tallman, evaluated the performances using a ten point judging scale with five categories.  The contestants not only earned points for their vocals but also for their marketability, stage performance and overall talent.

KRIG Country Showdown is much more than a local competition with the winner at Pawhuska’s Cavalcade Street Dance advancing to state.  The national competition in Nashville includes a TV appearance and the chance at the $100,000 grand prize.   For more details, go to http://www.krigcountryshowdown.com/  You can follow the Showdown on Facebook for pictures, video and information throughout the competition.

Congratulations to Jennifer Varao, for advancing to the KRIG Country Showdown Finale and thank you for joining KRIG, Ahava Cafe, Whiskey Bent, Washington Park Mall, Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor, Doenges Family of Autos, for the KRIG Country Showdown.
