Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball came to an end last Thursday in Kansas City when the Eagles fell to the Central Baptist Mustangs 84-79 in the Round of 16 of the NAIA Tournament. The Eagles held a 10-point lead with less than six minutes to go before giving up a 19-4 run that would end their season.

Head Coach Donnie Bostwick talked about the disappointing loss.

The Eagles will now say goodbye to fifth year seniors Kaleb Stokes and Taylen Miller who got constant play time over the years, along with seniors Makiah Wade and David Brown. Stokes and Miller were mainstays for Coach Bostwick and OKWU over their entire five years for the Eagles.

Bostwick talks about his senior group.

The Eagles finished their season with a 31-3 final record, including another KCAC regular season conference title to go along with a conference tournament title. OKWU also won two NAIA tournament games and made their second appearance in the Round of 16 in the last three seasons.

Wesleyan will also return starters D.J. Talton, Jaden Lietzke and Dylan Phillip along with 4-5 more regular rotational players. Congrats to the Eagles on another great season.
