It was a weekend full of hoops in Northeast Oklahoma, here are some of highlights from area clubs.

We have a recap on the Caney Valley Tournament HERE.

South Coffeyville’s girls continue to roll. Congrats to the Lady Lions, who ended up with another tournament championship - and an intact undefeated record.

South Coffeyville topped Oaks Mission, 55-42, Welch, 49-29, and Cave Springs, 57-18 to go 3-0 in the NEO Tournament and win the title. The state is starting to notice the club, as South Coffeyville was ranked at No. 17 in the latest installment of the OSSAA Class B rankings. The Lions were the only undefeated club in the top-20.

South Coffeyville has road contests against Foyil, Barnsdall and Glencoe to round out its reguar season before the Class B playoffs in early February.

The Nowata boys’ basketball team extended its winning streak to seven before falling in the finals of the NEO Tournament. The Ironmen got wins over Wyandotte (53-41) and Quapaw (58-44) before losing to 3A No. 5 Roland in the finals (74-47).

The Oklahoma Union boys went 1-2 in the Pawhuska Tournament. After an opening round loss to Tulsa CHEF, the Cougars beat Pawhuska’s JV club before falling to Morrison 51-42.

The Lady Cougars also went 1-2. OKU’s girls beat Cleveland and had losses to Rejoice Christian and Crossings Christian.

Wesleyan Christian School boys went 0-3 against much bigger competition over the weekend in the Washington Tournament. WCS lost to North Rock Creek, 83-53, Tecumseh, 61-50, and Chickasha 52-41.
