Bartlesville High track and field heads to state on Friday, as Bartlesville will have a chance to get on the podium on the girl’s side.

BHS qualified 16 athletes for state during a solid performance at Regionals this past weekend.

One of the biggest things to watch for Bartlesville on Friday will be the performances of the first-year state qualifiers.

Head coach David Ayres talks about some Bruin athletes who are getting to be at State for the first time.

As far as expectations, the girls’ team took second behind Broken Arrow at Regionals last week. BHS has several individuals and relay teams that will compete for a State title this weekend.

It starts with Campbell Barta, who enters the week with the fastest time in the state in the 100m dash. Barta set a school record in the race at Regionals.

Ayres talks about who could make some waves at State this weekend.

6A State track and field takes place at Yukon High School on Friday and Saturday.
