BHS Baseball Wins Game 1 of Bruin Classic

BHS baseball started off the Bruin Classic on a high note, as the Bruins won the first game of three they have this weekend at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

Bartlesville was able to pull out a 5-3 win over Ponca City. The Bruins got things started early offensively as they drew first blood in the first inning on a manufactured run.

In the second frame Mason Dryden gave Bartlesville a 2-0 lead with a big two-out base hit.

It was 3-0 Bruins before Ponca City would respond to make it 3-3 in the top of the sixth. Wildcats got three runs all with two outs after a Bartlesville error. BHS though would punch right back and score two runs in the bottom half of the sixth to grab the win.

Kaden Romesburg pitched the full seven innings and grabbed four strikeouts, gave up five hits and zero earned runs.

This double-play was one of two the Bruins had on the afternoon to help them get the win.

Bartlesville improves to 7-9 overall. BHS will be right back on Friday at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium for day two of the Bruin Classic.

Bartlesville will face Sapulpa at 11:00 and Enid at 1:30. We will have both games on Sports Talk 99.1 FM and 1500 AM – KPGM.
