Both the Bartlesville boys and girls basketball teams will take their show on the road for the first time in a week and a half, as BHS has another Frontier Valley Conference double-header at Muskogee on Friday.

The Lady Bruins and Bruins have both lost three in a row dating back to a week ago. Both clubs are having similar issues in trying to take care of the basketball.

Turnovers have plagued the girls and guys once league play has started up, with opponents dialing up the defensive pressure.

Bartlesville girls coach Donnie Martin says his team is having to fight to get the ball down the floor.

The Lady Bruins’ starting point guard TaKeitha Valentine has spent much of the time since winter break sidelined with a leg injury.

On the guy’s side, BHS is continuing to work on taking care of the ball, as well. Turnovers down the stretch led to a 10-point lead evaporating in the final three minutes in an ultimate one-point loss to Booker T. on Tuesday.

David Castillo continues to be the story of the year. The freshman scored a career high 29-points against the Hornets. Head coach Clent Stewart.

Castillo is averaging 21.5 points-per-game.

Lady Bruins tip at 6:30 with the guys to follow at 8:00 on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. Pregame begins around 6:00 on Friday.

No KWONTV coverage because of policies at Muskogee Public Schools.
