Bruin Baseball Begins Regionals

Bartlesville High baseball is back at it for its 6A Regional on Tuesday, as BHS heads to Union to face the Redhawks in the first round.

As always, this is a four-team double-elimination event. Bishop Kelley and Sand Springs are two teams opposite the Bruins and Union.

It has been a back-and-forth 2024 for a young BHS baseball team. Bartlesville’s pitching has been tremendous most of the year. The Bruins have leaned on senior Brenden Asher and sophomore Barrett Merciez as their two District starters.

6A UNION REGIONAL BRACKET

Bartlesville’s offense has struggled to get off the ground. The Bruins enter Regionals hitting .209 as a team with 34 extra base hits in 32 games.

Head coach Cody Price talks about how the Bruins can compete against the best.

Despite the less-than-gaudy offensive numbers, Bartlesville has played with the top of 6A on several occasions. Union enters the postseason at 20-14. Redhawks finished 2nd in their other east 6A District.

An 11:00 in the morning first pitch in game one. Should Bartlesville win it would play the winner of Bishop Kelley and Sand Springs at 4:00. If the Bruins lose, they will face the loser at 7:00.

Game one with pregame around 10:50 Tuesday morning on Sports Talk 99.1 FM – KPGM with audio coverage on KWONTV.com.
