Bruins All Over Muskogee for First District Win

The Bartlesville Bruins got back on track last night with a monumental win in Muskogee, 52-24. This is the first time since 2015 that Bartlesville has topped the Roughers.

The game was never all that close as the Bruins scored early and often. The ground game was wildly effective for Bartlesville as the team totaled 442 yards on the ground, 275 of which were in the first half. Bruin tailback Dylan McCoy set the tone early with this 67-yarder.

McCoy has a career night with three total touchdowns to go on top of 226 yards. Quarterback Paxton Bradford also toted the ball for 21 carries for 134 yards on the night.

Defensively, Braeden Winters showed why he is considered a next level prospect. For the second straight week the big guy recovered a fumble. Winters tacked on two short yardage rushing touchdowns as well.

Bartlesville threw the ball just seven times in the win. Up 24-7 just before halftime, this bomb from Bradford to Caden Davis put the game away.

The 28-point margin marks the Bruins biggest win over Muskogee in the last 15 meetings. Bartlesville is now 2-4 on the season. The Bruins will play Ponca City at home on Thursday, October 15.
