Bruins Eye Spring Game Thursday

We are into week No. 2 of high school football practices across the area, as most will continue with much of their spring gridiron activities throughout the rest of this week.

At Bartlesville High, the Bruins are building toward their spring game on Thursday. BHS will again hold an alumni flag football game before the varsity Bruins take the field to show off what they’ve learned. As we have reported, Bartlesville returns every varsity coach off last year’s five-win club.

This time a year ago the Bruin players were just getting acquainted with their varsity staff. Bartlesville head coach

Harry Wright says his team is far ahead of where it was 12 months ago when he had his first spring on the job.

Wright says there have been about 60 guys out for practices so far this spring. That is nearly 20 players ahead of where Bartlesville was last spring.

Wright talks about the roster size of his club.

Thursday night will be the next big day on the calendar. In addition to the alumni flag football game and spring contest the evening at Custer Stadium should serve as a kickoff to Memorial Day weekend in the area.
