Bruins Fall in Game 2 at Sand Springs

Bartlesville High baseball dropped another tough close game in District play on Tuesday night.

Sand Springs completed the sweep over BHS with a 1-0 win.

BHS again got a great start on the mound, this time from the Bruin’s ace pitcher Brenden Asher. However, Bartlesville could not muster enough offense to split the series.

Asher was brilliant on the rubber. The Oral Robert’s signee went the full six innings. He allowed one run on five hits. Asher struck out six and walked only one.

But, Bartlesville only had a couple baserunners, as Sand Springs did not give up any free passes. Both Asher and Grant Clark singled in the late innings but could not come around to score.

BHS drops to 6-9 on the year. Bartlesville returns home for play in the Bruin Classic starting on Thursday morning at 11:00 then again on Friday at 11:00 and 1:30.

We will have those three games on Sports Talk 99.1 FM – KPGM and KWONTV.com.
