One practice down, three more to go for Bartlesville High football, as the Bruins are getting set for their only preseason scrimmage on Friday. BHS will travel to Ponca City for an exhibition edition of the ConocoPhillips Bowl.

With the new districts in 6A-II this fall, Bartlesville will not play Ponca in the regular season.

Bartlesville wrapped up practice at 5:30 Monday afternoon. It was a hot start to game prep.

Bruin head coach Harry Wright talks about yesterday’s outing.

This will be the first season since 1999 that Bartlesville and Ponca City have not played each other in the regular season. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the most physical practices for the Bruins leading up to a walk-through on Thursday, then gameday on Friday.

We will have more on Bartlesville’s only preseason scrimmage as the week rolls on.
