Changes Made for Next Year's Classification Cycle
A major ruling came down last week that will impact high school football this coming fall. As a result of a lawsuit brought on by private schools against the OSSAA, districts are in the process of being changed, and in the case of Barnsdall, the Panthers have moved from 8-man to 11-man.
Pawhuska was moving down to Class A heading into next year and they will stay in Class A after the changes. That is why Coach Matt Hennesy says as the schedule gets re-worked, things won't change a ton.
Dewey, who was in Class 3A last year, came away a winner after the ruling, as the Bulldoggers have been bumped down to Class 2A. We will have more reaction from area coaches on this news in the coming weeks.
