Indians Baseball Sweeps Saturday Against DFW

It was a perfect weekend for the Doenges Toyota Indians after completing a sweep of the DFW Ravages at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Indians swept Saturday's doubleheader, 6-3, and 3-1.

The Tribe got the bats back on Saturday with a handful of players chipping in. Hunter Shea went deep in the second inning to blow it open early in game one.

DFW didn't go away quietly. After trailing 5-0 through three innings, the Ravages made it 5-3 going into the sixth. Brett Eaves got the Indians back up three with this solo shot to right field.

The bats did just enough to give Indians pitching a cushion in game two. The Tribe only used two arms in Saturday's finale, but both Eli Winters and Zane Griggs shined. Winters went five innings, allowed seven hits, one run and struck out five. Griggs struck out two and allowed one walk in his lone inning of work.

Winters finished up a clean fifth inning with this strikeout.

Sam Marcella was the highlight in game two, he knocked in all three runs. Two of them came on this double in the fourth inning.

The Indians have now won three straight and are 10-14 on the summer. The Tribe will head back into Stroud on Tuesday night for a doubleheader against OKC Express. We will have Indians baseball on Tuesday night on KWON with video coverage on KWONTV.com.
