Bartlesville High girl’s golf is still celebrating after nabbing the final spot in the 6A State Tournament.

BHS shot a 368 as a team on Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course in Stillwater at Regionals, which qualified the entire team. Lisa Brown led the way with an 82.

Taylor Price (92), Campbell Craig (94), Emilyn Rainbolt (100) and Grace Lumpkin (103) all did well and qualified with the team.

BHS shot 10 strokes better on the back nine than it did on the front, which made the difference. The 368 was one of the best scores they’ve had all year.

Head coach Carl Holmes talks about the improvement from the Lady Bruins.

Holmes said the lost season from COVID-19 a year ago really put BHS under the gun for development of the team in 2021. He said Tuesday’s round was a long time coming.

Holmes says the team practiced all year for the one Regional round on Tuesday, and Bartlesville was up to the task.

BHS will now move on to State next week at the Broken Arrow Golf and Athletic Club. The Tournament will be Wednesday and Thursday, with a practice round on Tuesday.
