Lady Bruin Tennis Heads to State

Bartlesville High girl tennis is headed to 6A State on Friday, the girls have all qualified for state after a runner-up finish at Regionals on Monday.

BHS will have a chance to send several student athletes to the podium. Everyone finished in the top-four at Regionals. The No. 1 doubles-duo of Bella Gustafson and Julia McKissick were the only Regional champs for the Lady Bruins.

Those two were paired up for the first full season this year.

Head coach Bryan Reese says they had some signs they might work well together last year during some limited action.

Another storyline to watch this weekend will be freshman Abby Shelley. Shelley is the youngest of the Shelley Bartlesville tennis dynasty. She qualified for state after an outstanding third place finish at Regionals on Monday.

6A State is a two-day event at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. Good luck to the Lady Bruins we will have results as we get them.

BHS boys Regionals and State will be Monday and the following weekend.
