It was a different year, and the same result at Edmond Sante Fe High School on Saturday morning.

The Bartlesville girls cross country team won the 6A state title for the second straight year. The Lady Bruins snapped a 17-year dry spell of state champions at BHS last year. Bartlesville edged out second-place Norman for the victory.

The Bartlesville boys team finished in second place. The Bruins, which had been battling with Jenks at the top of the heap in 6A toward the tail of the year, finished just behind the Trojans.

The Lady Bruins blew out Norman, beating the Lady Tigers 45-70 (where the lower score wins). BHS had three of the top five runners in Rilee Rigdon, Shay Stayton and Greta Olsen.

The Bruins couldn't out duel the Trojans. Jenks beat the Bartlesville boys 41-78. Henry Williams led the BHS boys with a time of 16:27 in ninth place overall.
