Oklahoma Union Softball Alums Gearing Up for WCWS

Oklahoma Union softball is making splashes across collegiate softball as three Lady Cougar Alums have advanced to the Women’s College World Series at the NCJAA, NAIA and NCAA Division II levels. 

Starting with the class of 2020, Morgen Bellar is a student assistant coach for the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, Oklahoma. 

USAO takes on Cumberlands Kentucky in the first round of the NAIA WCWS on Thursday. 

Moving to the class of 2021, Chesnie Hewitt is a member of Muray State College a NJCAA division II squad that is 56-0 and a favorite to win the national championship.

Murray State takes on Independence’s Lady Pirates in the first round of the opening series on Tuesday, May 23. 

Class of 2022 is making some noise too as Rylee Lemos and the Central Oklahoma Lady Bronchos for NCAA Division II. Lemos has not missed a start in 59 games for UCO in her freshman campaign including a perfect fielding percentage this year. The Lady Bronchos take on Nova Southeastern (Florida) on Thursday.
