Oklahoma Wesleyan hoops keeps on trucking as the Eagles have punched their ticket to the KCAC title game Monday night after a 90-74 win over the Saint Mary Spires Saturday night at the Mueller Sports Center. This one was the tale of two halves for both teams. The Spires shot the lights out in the first half as they made 7-11 three’s to help them grab a 44-40 half time lead.

The second half though would be an onslaught offensively and defensively for Wesleyan as they went on to outscore the Spires 50-30 in the second half. It was a team effort for OKWU as all five-starters scored in double figures Saturday night.

Wesleyan trailed the entire first half, and did not take their first lead of the game until the 15:12 mark in the second half at 50-48, courtesy of this steal and slam for Jaden Lietzke.

Lietzke finished with his second straight double-double as he tied his season-high in points as well at 26 points and 10 boards.

Saint Mary hung around and kept it within 7-9 for most of the second half until the Eagles just finally pulled away. Kaleb Stokes dazzled again as he scored 16-points, all being in the second half. This three-ball by Stokes was the final nail in the coffin.

Here is Eagle Head Coach Donnie Bostwick's full interview postgame on the big win.

Oklahoma Wesleyan improves to 28-2 on the season and now await a rematch with the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in the KCAC Title game on Monday night. Eagles and Coyotes meet Monday night at Hartman Arena in Park City, KS for the conference title at 8 pm. Game will be broadcasted on KWON.
