The Washington County Free Fair gets underway Tuesday, September 1 but it will not be open to the public until Thursday. Tuesday is entry day which includes canning, vegetables, crochet, quilting and any other crafts. The hours are from noon until 7 P.M. and Free Fair Manager Pam Pollock said 7 P.M. is the absolute cut off time. Pollock also said this year's theme is “Honoring Our County's Best.”

Exhibits at the Free Fair include livestock, crops, horticulture, science, technology and so much more. Thursday's events include the Cattle Women Pie and Basket Auction beginning at 5 P.M., immediately followed by the Talent Contest. The Washington County Free Fair runs through Saturday.
