BHS Football Up To No. 2

The Week 6 high school football rankings were released on Tuesday afternoon from the Associated Press, and Bartlesville was bumped up. 

The Bruins are the no. 2 ranked team in 6A-II after their 50-33 win at Bixby last Friday. Bartlesville has been ranked in the top 5 of most publications across the state since the start of the season, but this marks the team's highest-ever ranking in 6A-II. 

In addition to the ranking, BHS has beaten three of the top five teams in the state, as Bixby and Sand Springs both squeaked into the poll. 

Booker T. Washington, another Bruin district opponent, was no. 1 in the poll. The Hornets host Bartlesville on Oct. 16. 

The Bruin's opponent on Friday, Muskogee, received one vote.

1. Booker T. Washington (10)

2. Bartlesville

3. Lawton

4. Bixby

5. Sand Springs

Others receiving votes: Midwest City (5), Muskogee (1), Stillwater (1).
