The Nowata School Board met briefly Monday afternoon for a short special meeting as they approved items to close out the fiscal year.  The school board approved an 1,080 hour school term for the 2016-2017 school year in lieu of 175 calendar days.  Schools superintendent Leon Ashlock says that there's no increase or decrease in the school days.

In other action, the school board awarded Fuller Oil Company for gasoline for school vehicles.  The company was the only bid received.  The school board approved a list of Nowata Public School Fundraisers, the activity fund, and the complimentary athletic passes for the 2016-2017 school year.

The next Nowata School Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 18th at 6 P.M.
