Telephones were down for Oklahoma customers of Totah Communications because of a major service outage on Thursday.  President and General Manager, Mark Gailey says the outages had affected Ochelata, Oglesby, Wann, Talala, Burbank and Lenapah exchanges.

Reportedly, the outage was caused by an AT&T fiber that was cut around the Claremore area.

The outage affected 9-1-1 service in that area.  AT&T has repaired that fiber overnight, and service has since been restored.
