Monday at the meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners the Board heard from Ladd Drummond regarding the Kennedy Building in Downtown Pawhuska, discussed the hiring of a new part-time employee for Osage County E-911, approved several grants for the Nutrition Program, and appointed Commissioners for the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Ladd Drummond made a brief statement, during the meeting, about interest in purchasing the Kennedy Building in Downtown Pawhuska. Drummond was curious what the process would be to make the building available. The County currently owns the building and the Commissioners along with Osage County District Attorney Rex Duncan discussed what would be necessary to make the building available sale to the public.

Duncan came to the determination that a new building appraisal will have to be conducted before the County could move any further. Three previous appraisals were conducted for the Kennedy Building in October 2015 which appraised the building at face-cash-value between $120,000 and $200,000. Once the building is appraised the County will need 2/3 of the appraised value when it is sold through a bid process. The item was tabled until further action, including the appraisal can take place.

The Commissioners also tabled the hiring of a part-time employee for E-911 in order to review the accepted applications, and approved Steve Ridener and Terry Shreve for serve an additional 4 year term on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The next meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners will be held next Monday, at the Osage County Courthouse in Pawhuska.
