Teacher for Pawhuska Public School Blayne Shuping requested the use of the AG building for the 2017/2018 Pawhuska Honors Banquet Monday at the meeting of the Osage County Commissioners. Shuping said they have used the Elks Lodge for the events in the past but were looking for a new venue.

Shuping said that the Elks Lodge was normally donated for the evening but they did pay a cleaning deposit, and asked if the school could have the AG Building at the Osage County Fairground under the same stipulation. District #! Commissioners Jerry Howerton said that the donation of the building would not be an issue as long as they cleaned up following the event and paid a small, $50, cleaning deposit. Shuping agreed, and the commissioners approved the use of the AG Building for the March 5, 2018 event.

The Commissioners also accepted a petition to vacate from land owners along CR 3455 North and CR 3851 West. The road is currently used by two families but have seen an increase in non-local traffic which is adding unnecessary wear and tear. The process will require the County to notify land owners regarding the vacation, and the Commissioners will need to hold a public hearing.

The next meeting of the Osage County Commissioners will be next Monday at the Osage County Courthouse in Pawhuska.
